Petrol, diesel prices may increase as international oil rates zooms

A rush in international oil prices may translate into a rise in the retail selling price of petrol and diesel in India as oil companies face extreme margin squeeze, sources said. Petrol and diesel prices have remained unaltered for 12 days but now the international rate zoom is exerting pressure. Current prices of petrol and diesel in the international market are higher by around $4-6%.

Natural gas futures zoomed considerably on Monday (October 25, 2021) tracking the bullish overseas cue. On the MCX, natural gas delivery for October climbed Rs 24, or 6.12 percent, to Rs 416.10 per mmBtu at 2.31 pm with a business turnover of 1,470 lots. The value of October and November contracts traded, so far, stood at Rs 265.09 crore and Rs 543.77 crore, respectively.
