Passenger vehicle dispatches declines due to semiconductor shortage

According to the auto industry body SIAM, passenger car wholesales in India fell by 27% year on year in October, owing to a semiconductor shortage that hampered automakers' manufacturing. Passenger vehicle sales last month stood at 2,26,353 units, as compared to 3,10,694 units in the year-ago period. Motorcycle dispatches were also down 26 % last month to 10,17,874 units.
